A friend of ours recently read and highly recommended Dr. Zhivago by Pasternak. Agi and I decided to rent the movie (we subscribe to the Hungarian version of Netflix--which another friend has called the Iron Curtain Netflix) and we popped it in our dvd player Friday night. The movie was beautifully filmed but very confusing with hardly any introduction of the characters or the plot. We figured the director was going for a very artsy approach. It also ended after an hour and a half, which we thought was kind of short... I told Agi "I'm glad I didn't waste my time with that book"... After checking our dvds, yes, Dr. Zhivago is a 2-disk movie and we had jumped right in with the second disk.
